- 73% of Americans think that their driving skills are above average. Meanwhile, 90% of accidents in the U.S. are caused by human error.
- According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 5 seconds. At 55 mph, that’s like driving the length of an entire football field with your eyes closed.
- The National Safety Council reports 1 out of 4 accidents in the US are caused by texting and driving. Next time, designate your passenger as your “designated texter.”
